Moving to Zürich was wonderful. But every Saturday, something felt missing.
Back in Sweden, Saturday means
lördagsgodis — the traditional day for candy. You grab a paper bag and fill it
yourself. Sour worms, salty licorice, foam bananas, cinnamon hearts. It is not
just candy. It is a ritual. A weekly thing families just do.
When we moved to Zürich, we
looked for that feeling. The pick & mix walls, the paper bags, the Swedish
classics we grew up with — they simply did not exist here.
Sour worms for the brave. Foam bananas
for the nostalgic.
Salty licorice for those who know.
Something for everyone.
So after one too many
conversations that started with “wouldn’t it be amazing if…” — we found the
suppliers, argued over which licorice was non-negotiable (all of it,
apparently), and opened Swedish Candy Market.
We’re not trying to be the
fanciest thing in Zürich. We just want to give you that feeling — of taking
your time, filling your bag with exactly what you want, and walking out with
something that makes the weekend feel a little more like a celebration.
Come by on a Saturday. Or honestly, any day.
Take your time. Fill your bag
with the ones that feel like yours.
The candy doesn’t judge.
Välkommen.
